Now here is an issue that I first heard on NPR and now it has been made into a film. I haven’t seen the film but It looks like its going to be a good. It is suppose to be based on real events and it seems like it is. My guess is that texaco is going to get away with this and nothing is going to be done to fix it because of corruption.

Film, Games and Story telling with 3D

I am so exited about the new cameras that can record stereoscopic pictures. Until now only 3d films and games could do this but now companies like Red are providing a way for film makers to bring the new dimension to a flat medium like film.

I took an 3d animation classes at college but I found it to take so long to create meaning footage. I takes about 6 months to create about 3 minutes of great animation.

So for now I am going to focus on stories and not on 3d techniques like 3d animation. I just watched Disney Pixar UP and it make me cry not because the rendering and the 3d expereince but the story was so compelling.

This is the reason why I love games too, NOt so much because of the action but because of the stories. One of my favority games because of the story was Metal Gear for the PS1 and then I follow it up to the Ps3 with MGS4.

The most sofistacated game or the most eye candy film will fail if the story is not engaging.

I didnt really want to jump on the drobo bus but after spending about 3000 d

ollars on storage solution that just fail why not spend half on something that is not going to fail. —well, thats it for marketing. This is why I would wait to buy the drobo: Firewire800 usb 2.0

I am a video editor and yes I need the bandwith specialy with HD footage but why would I consilidate my storage if I dont gain any speed? Granted is not drobos fault that we havent seen hardware for firewire1600 or usb 3.0 but Ill know when to buy drobo when firewire1600 and usb 3.0 comes out only then it will make sence to get rid of all my drives and more to a centralize solution that is going to last me a least a few years.

UPDATE:

Another set back of the Drobo is that the Data Read and Write are not that fast compared to stand alone external drive.

BELOW : Standard firewire speed: Average 80MB/s compared to about Average 45MB drobo.
